When we design interactions, we mostly think about layout: changes in shape and size. Even with, we think about rotating, changing perspective, skewing, and almost never about the individual characters.
Here, the characters that persist across different words animate to their new position whilst the others fade out, creating a smooth and seamless inline transition.
