My Story

That's me in the middle!

Hi, I'm Jenson Wong.

I'm a web designer who loves to code. In my work, I'm always striving to create a memorable and delightful user experience, and strongly believe that having an intimate understanding of the technical details is an important part of that.

Though I only started designing not too long ago, I've always obsessed over aesthetics.

I grew up in a creative family. The walls at home are filled with my sister's paintings and my brother's illustrations. Out of the three of us, I was the only one that couldn't draw. And so, naturally, I never considered myself to be creative.

But, what I came to realize was that I did have was that same eye for detail. I still remember frustratingly sticking my face right up to the computer screen trying to get the perfect alignment on my 5th grade social studies poster.

Eventually, that pixel peeping nature of mine that started with school projects carried into my designs.

What I quickly realized, however, was that even if I had spent all night working on a design, it never felt real enough to me. I didn't want to present my designs as a series of pictures, but instead an experience where the fluidity of the design carried through into the interactions.

I started coding to breathe life into my designs, and I'm so grateful that I did. In unexpected moments, understanding the technical stuff has become a superpower for me.

I'm 20 years old, and in school I follow the same interdisciplinary approach to learning. I'm currently pursuing a dual degree in Business Economics and Cognitive Science on the Computer Science track. I live in LA now, but I was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Shanghai.

I made this site as a personal playground, where I could freely explore my design ideas. I'm always trying to make cool things in my spare time, and figured this was the best way to share them. This site, for me, is all about having fun. Hope you enjoy :)
